Please take a few minutes to view the Virtual Tour of the
proposed interior renovations to the four floors of the library. All tours begin near the elevators with a
very quick shot of what the rooms look like now.
Garden Level
The beginning is a quick shot of what the
room looks like now with rows and rows of high book shelves. Then you are able to view our vision of an
expanded Children’s Room with areas devoted to computers, crafts, picture books
and an outside story garden, the most exciting aspect of the entire
project. We will use that space to hold
nature programs, story hours, and it will also be a place of refuge should the
building need to be evacuated.

First Floor
You will see a new information desk for
quick questions and notice the fact that removal of the open staircase
highlights the beautiful arched entrance to the periodical room. We are able to
add 25% more usable space on three floors without changing the footprint of the
building. We also maintain areas for
comfortable seating arrangements with views of the park.

Second Floor
The Reference Department, the new
computer lab, and the Young Adult area will be located on this floor.

Third Floor
We show that the meeting room will be
smaller, holding about 50 people, but it will still have a view of the park. The
Collection Management Department, Literacy Volunteers, and the small meeting
room will be on this floor.
