File Your Taxes Online
- E-File - More and more Americans have chosen e-file, which lets them
electronically file an accurate tax return or get an extension of time
to file without sending any paper to the Internal Revenue Service.
- Free File - Free File allows taxpayers with an Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) of
$52,000 or less in 2006 to e-file their federal tax returns for free.
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)
The VITA Program offers free tax help to low- to moderate-income
(generally, $39,000 and below) people who cannot prepare their own tax
returns. Trained community volunteers can help you with special credits, such as
Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), Child Tax Credit, and Credit for the
Elderly for which you may qualify.
Where to File Federal Income Tax Forms
These Where to File addresses are for all individual taxpayers filing their own individual federal tax returns in Rhode Island during Calendar Year 2008.
