We invite you to join us and Chelsea from Bluebird Yoga for an all levels (beginner friendly) yoga practice in the park Mondays at 12:00 pm! Wake up your body with a gentle stretch followed by flowing movement and strengthening. We will be meeting behind the pond, next to the big tree and near the YMCA, weather permitting.

Please bring your own equipment, Chelsea recommends:

  • A Yoga Mat and Yoga Props (you will not specifically need any props unless they are part of your usual practice)
  • A towel or blanket to place under your mat and one for over your body during savasana
  • A Water Bottle
  • Sunscreen and bug spray

Chelsea, aka Bluebird Yoga, is a local from Stonington. Growing up she was a competitive gymnast and fell in love with yoga during Grad school as a way to foster a movement practice as well as adding some zen into her life. Yoga, for Chelsea, is about fostering healing through kindness. The goal in her classes is to hold the space for her fellow yogis to cultivate kindness on and off the mat. She loves to help students find their pose, realizing that our bodies change and poses might feel and look different daily. Chelsea encourages students to take time to feel the pose and make adjustments or modifications as they need. She understands the importance of safe movement and leads students through a practice that builds from gentler modifications through more difficult variations as they increase strength and flexibility. She believes this method of practice allows students to connect with their mind, body, and daily needs of both, the knowledge of how to modify a pose, and the compassion to meet themselves where they are that day.
