Treasures through Time

Have you ever seen a velocipede (an early form of the bicycle?) How about a copy of the Misquamicut Purchase (which conveyed the land that includes Westerly to European settlers?) What about some of famous children's author Margaret Wise Brown's storyboards? These unique items and many others are on display in the Hoxie Gallery as part of Treasures through Time. This exhibit displays many rarely-seen historical items from the library's Special Collections, including National Book Week posters that you might recognize from childhood.

Join us for a special opening reception on Wednesday, August 23rd from 5 to 7 pm where you can be among the first to see the exhibit, talk to the dedicated volunteers who brought the exhibit to life, and enjoy light refreshments.

The exhibit will run from Wednesday, August 23rd until Saturday, November 25th.
