About the musician:

Taiwanese flutist Ann Kuo is dedicated to creating inclusive musical experiences. She earned both her Bachelor and Master of Music from Colburn Conservatory of Music with Jim Walker and is currently earning her Professional Studies Certificate with Cathy Payne at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. As an orchestral musician, she is currently Second Flute Piccolo with Stockton Symphony and former Second Flute with the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra She has received numerous prestigious awards, including First Prize in the 2024 Jefferson Symphony Young Artists Competition, where she performed Ibert’s Concerto with the orchestra. In 2023, she won First Prize in the Naftzger Young Artists Competition. In 2022, at just 20 years old, she competed against musicians up to age 30 and won Third Prize in the National Flute Association Young Artist Competition. Ms. Kuo has performed worldwide in a variety of genres, from classical solo and chamber music to jazz and pop, appearing in the United States, Canada, Austria, Switzerland, Taiwan, and Japan. As a soloist, she has performed concertos with the Colburn Orchestra and Mount Orchestra and has presented recitals in Los Angeles and Taipei. She has been invited to major festivals such as the Verbier Festival Junior Orchestra, Music Academy of the West, Domaine Forget International Academy, Interlochen Arts Camp, Taipei Music Academy and Festival, and the Sarasota Music Festival. In 2022, she was awarded the Outstanding Flutist Scholarship at Domaine Forget and was invited to perform at the festival’s closing concert. In 2024, Ann Kuo founded Aerosound, an organization dedicated to promoting, preserving, and celebrating diverse musical and cultural expressions. Through Aerosound, she has worked to empower communities by fostering inclusive musical experiences and supporting emerging artists across genres. With a commitment to artistic excellence and musical innovation, Ms. Kuo continues to explore diverse musical styles and push the boundaries of her artistry.
