Join us for a chamber concert featuring flutist Ann Kuo, violist Annis Ma, and clarinetist Mia Kuo as they perform an engaging program of solo, duo, and trio pieces. The repertoire includes classical duets like Kummer’s Duo for Flute and Clarinet and Hoffmeister’s Duo for Flute and Viola, No. 2, alongside accessible trios for audiences new and experienced. About the Musicians:
Ann Kuo: A distinguished Taiwanese flutist, Ann Kuo holds degrees from the Colburn Conservatory and has served as second flute with the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra since 2025. She is the recipient of numerous accolades, including the 2024 Jefferson Symphony Young Artists Competition. As the founder of Aerosound, she is dedicated to promoting diverse musical experiences. Ms. Kuo’s international performance career spans classical solo and chamber repertoire, as well as jazz and pop genres, with appearances in the United States, Canada, Austria, Switzerland, Taiwan, and Japan.
Annis Ma: Born in Hong Kong, violist Annis Ma currently studies at the Curtis Institute, where she has earned several scholarships and competitive awards, including the Bernice and Howard Levinson Fellowship and a full scholarship from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund. Ms. Ma serves as principal violist for many prominent ensembles such as the Curtis Symphony Orchestra, Verbier Festival Orchestra, and Colburn Orchestra. Her achievements include being named the youngest Hong Kong Young Music Maker by Hong Kong Radio Television in 2017 and securing the Overall Champion title at the 5th Hong Kong International Music Festival.
Mia Kuo: Clarinetist Mia Kuo, a California native and graduate of the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music, has been recognized with the Elaine Krown Klein Award and the Joe Zawinul Foundation of Achievement. She has performed with leading Los Angeles ensembles and previously held positions as co-principal clarinetist of the Colburn Wind Ensemble and assistant principal clarinetist of the Los Angeles Youth Philharmonic Wind Ensemble, with notable performances at Walt Disney Concert Hall. Ms. Kuo has also participated in renowned festivals including Interlochen Arts Camp and the Midwest Clinic International Band and Orchestra Conference.
