The library is closed Monday, October 13th for Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples' Day.
Join us for a special Halloween edition of the Michael DePaola Literary Salon & Open Mic, hosted by Jessica P. Wick, for a miscellany of mythic and moving works from invited guest readers to a poetry and prose open mic featuring your creativity, and yes, musicians are welcome. The special guest reader for the night is Ricardo Rebelo, a horror writer and filmmaker based in Fall River. The event will begin at 6:30 and wrap up around 8. Sign up in advance to ensure you have a slot and let us know what you’re interested in sharing: poetry, prose, a scene from a play, or a song from your heart. This special edition of the event will be held at the gazebo in Wilcox Park overlooking the Poet’s Tree planted in Michael’s honor.
Contact Jessica at bone.lyre@gmail.com to sign up in advance for a slot. Visit The United for more information!
Please note:
Westerly Library & Wilcox Park staff often take photos and recordings during programs and events, which may be used in publicity and marketing. If you do not wish to have your photo used, please contact a staff member to let us know and we will make every effort to honor that request.
