Giving Tuesday

“Westerly Library & Wilcox Park is the heart of our community. I love to spend time in the library and park, and I feel it is important to contribute to its continued success. It is my honor and pleasure to assist in any way possible to make it thrive!” – Rose Weston

Rose Weston has been a lifelong advocate of Westerly Library & Wilcox Park. She credits her late brother, Fred Pampel, with getting her involved. Fred, a longtime volunteer in Wilcox Park, started a winter accessory program and enlisted Rose to help collect winter hats, scarves, and gloves to donate to the children’s room for anyone in-need to take.

It wasn’t long until Rose signed up as a volunteer driver for the library’s Homebound Delivery program, delivering books to individuals who could not easily leave their homes and come to the library. The rest, as they say, is history.

Over the years, Rose has served on several volunteer committees and continues to contribute in so many ways. She believes that anyone can make an impact: "If we all gave $10 or a few hours of volunteer time to support a cause we love, we would make a huge difference."

Rose is always looking for opportunities to help out. Her strong sense of social responsibility is evident in her volunteerism and charity. That’s just the kind of person Rose is. She is hard-working, empathetic, and exceptionally generous. These traits make her an invaluable volunteer, donor, friend, and community leader.

Now, more than ever, we need people like Rose. People willing to give their time and treasure to make our community thrive. Will you join her in giving back this Giving Tuesday?
