National Craft Month

February 26, 2026

March is National Craft Month, a month-long celebration created in 1994 by the Craft & Hobby Association to promote the joy, creativity, and mental health benefits of making handmade items. It encourages beginners and experts alike to learn new skills, such as sewing, painting, knitting, or scrapbooking. 

Get creative and crafty with us this month, and join in our themed programs and activities for all ages, all month long:

Kids

Monday, 03/02, 9 am-8 pm: Kids Take & Make: Leprechaun Traps

Tuesday, 03/10, 4:00-4:45 pm: Chapters, Cookies, & Coloring Club: "The Kids in Mrs. Z's Class: Olive Little Gets Crafty" by Linda Urban

Tuesday, 03/17, 4:00-4:45 pm: Chapters, Cookies, & Coloring Club: "Green Jolene and the Neighborhood Swap" by Wendy Mass

Thursdays, 4-5 pm: Kids Craft Times | 03/5 Paper Plate Spring Chickens, 03/12 Lucky Leprechaun Spotters, 03/19 Button Bracelets, 03/26 Cherry Blossom Stamp Painting

View our picture book display throughout the month of arts and crafts books, or decorate a sheep for our Spring Farm bulletin board.

Tweens

Thursdays, 4-5 pm: Tween Craft Times | 03/5 Cardboard Looms, 03/12 Make Your Own Stamp, 03/19 Clay Pinch Pots, 03/26 Junk Journaling

Stop by and pickup an Air Dry Clay Take & Make kit, available at the beginning of the month, while supplies last.

Teens

All month long:

Book display with craft books and graphic novels about art/artists; DIY Craft Table: Magic Foam Painting; Craft Closet white board will have new weekly famous artists quotes 

Adults

Monday, 03/02, 9 am-8 pm: Crafternoon To-Go: Hand-painted Candles

Monday, 03/23, 5:30-7:45 pm: Adult Craft & Movie Night: Collages or Vision Boards with "Ferris Bueller's Day Off"

All Ages

Saturday, 03/21, 10 am-1 pm: Craft Supply Swap!
