Join us for a glimpse inside the writing and directing process with Artist-in-Residence DAVE SOLOMON. He will present a live reading of a short film script (featuring local actors) followed by a screening of the finished award-winning film. He will then premiere a section of a new work-in-progress that he is developing with local actor and acclaimed theatre and film actress ANGELA GOETHALS (Home Alone, Jerry Maguire). He will also discuss and facilitate a Q&A about the other projects he has been a part of and is working on during his residency with Westerly Library & Wilcox Park this winter. Also participating in this program are local actors, Nicole DiMattei, Kyle Ferreira, and Russell Soder.

About Angela Goethals:

Angela Goethals was born and raised in New York City and appeared onstage for the first time at age 6 in a production of Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew with a theatre company of young adventurers, The Watery Star; her mother worked concessions, PR, among many other jobs; she and her sister appeared in the final scene, the wedding, drinking ginger ale out of goblets. Angela has had the pinch-me-I'm-dreaming experiences of saying words written by William Shakespeare, Tina Howe, William Inge, Edward Albee, John Guare, Eugene O'Neill, Gina Gionfriddo, Horton Foote, Annie Weisman, Lynn Redgrave, Amos Poe, Madeleine George, David E. Kelley, John Hughes, Chris Columbus, James Brooks, and David J. Steive, among many other fierce talents. She is honored and amazed to be here, saying words by the fiercely talented David Solomon (a dear friend from Vassar College - shout out to VC Class of '99). Angela is most recognized for insulting Macaulay Culkin in French in Home Alone. She is proud and delighted to call Westerly home where she lives with her partner in all things, Russell Soder, and their three brilliant children.

Nicole DiMattei co-created and produced THE IMBIBLE series of musical comedies, which ran Off Broadway for six years. She moved to Westerly to be the Artistic Director of the Granite Theatre and is now the Deputy Executive Director of the Chorus of Westerly.

Russel Soder is an actor, best known for the films Allegiance, The Wrong Girl, and Pax Importi Modellus: The Rise of the Import Model. Television credits include Vinnie on ID’s I Married a Mobster, Trey Hinton on CBS’ Without a Trace, Berg on NBC’s ER, and Jeff on NBC’s Medical Investigation. Theatre credits include Off-Broadway, as Darryl Cox/Others in Top Secret: The Battle for the Pentagon Papers (N.Y. Theatre Workshop) and regionally, as Jim O'Connor in The Glass Menagerie, the Messenger in Phaedra, Ralph Henry/Others in Bus Riley's Back In Town, Pylades in Agamemnon and His Daughters, Silvius/Others in As You Like It, and Robin in Prince Poupon Needs a Wife (Antaeus Theatre) and Dickson in Moving Picture, Doug in Blue Surge, Paul Benjamin/Others in The Ruby Sunrise, and Marcus in The Roads That Lead Here (Pacific Stages). He is married to Angela Goethals where they reside in Westerly with their three children.
