Join artist and naturalist Robert Braunfield for a fun and informative presentation on the skills and techniques for identifying birds. While drawing live in front of the audience, Braunfield will speak on and illustrate things such as families of birds, basic bird anatomy, wings and flight patterns, migration, and behavior. He will also share interesting anecdotes from his many years bird watching, and taking part in many research and conservation activities.
This is the first of our two-part birdwatching series with Robert. Come back this Saturday for a morning walk in Wilcox Park to search for warblers, tanagers, orioles, and other songbirds, just returning from wintering in Central and South America. The air should be filled with their songs and the trees with their freshly colored plumages!
Both sessions are appropriate for both beginner and experienced bird-watchers alike.
