Our most vivid images of Dr. Martin Luther King tend to be from his earlier days, as he led the struggle to overcome southern racism.  But in 1966 Dr. King moved his family to the slums of Chicago to address, not only a northern version of racism, but to develop tools to loosen the grip of persistent poverty.  Please join us for this hour-long movie followed by a brief, small-group discussion in celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  Refreshments will be provided.

Co-sponsored by Westerly Area Peace and Justice Group, Young Global Leadership Foundation, The Rotary Club of Westerly, and Westerly’s Anti-Racism Coalition and Westerly Library & Wilcox Park.
