How you can become a citizen lobbyist advocating for Peace and Justice to prevail in the US and around the world.
A panel of three persons will introduce you to the concept of individual citizens lobbying US Congress members on legislation promoting Peace, Justice, and Environmental Stewardship in the US and around the world. The panel will explain how a Quaker organization “Friends Committee on National Legislation” (FCNL), founded in 1943 is today, in 2026, helping citizens of all faiths lobby Congress on Peace, Justice, and Environmental issues.
During the course of this one-hour presentation, you will become acquainted with:
The purpose, growth, and success of FCNL, explained in part by a video from Joe Volk, former General Secretary of FCNL from 1990-2011.
The support and opportunities provided in 2026 by FCNL to help persons become citizen lobbyists.
Examples of specific Federal legislation currently receiving attention by FCNL coordinated volunteer citizen lobbyists.
We are hopeful that the simple processes and materials we introduce to you will show how easy and important it is for you or anyone to learn how to become a citizen lobbyist.
