Local author Johnette Rodriguez discusses her book Alma of Rag Town, and how it came to be. The novel is about a time and place that's fairly unknown in New England: 1914-1918, northwestern Louisiana, an "oil boom village" for oil field workers (East Texas oil strikes nearby). Rodriguez will discuss that era of history, the family that the book depicts, and her connection to that family.
