Welcome to the Kids & Tweens Library!
Welcome to the Kids & Tweens space!
We offer a wide collection of books and multimedia materials for children from birth to sixth grade. Be sure to check out our collection of materials for parents and caregivers, covering everything from feeding to toilet training.
Enjoy a dynamic and engaging hands-on play space for our youngest patrons. Blocks, games, puzzles, and building materials are available for exploration and learning.
Our Tween space is a unique area just for kids from grades four through six. Here, tween patrons can relax in their own space to read or enjoy the Wii or Switch gaming consoles.
We offer various programs and activities throughout the day, afternoon, and evening for kids, tweens, and families alike! Please check out our upcoming events below or visit the library's events calendar here.
If you have any questions, be sure to contact the Children's Librarian, Mel Fricchione, at mfricchione@westerlylibrary.org or the Tween Librarian, Ben Green, at bgreen@westerlylibrary.org.
To reach the Kids & Tween space, please call 401-596-2877 ext. 316.

Ongoing Children's Room Activity:
1,000 Books Before Kindergarten challenge comes to Westerly Library! Designed for children from birth to kindergarten, this multi-year, self-paced program encourages early literacy development by inspiring caregivers to read 1,000 books with their children before they start school.
Participation is easy: register your child at the Children’s Desk and receive a reading log to help track your progress. Each log contains 100 books. Once a log is completed, it can be brought back to the library to exchange for a free book!
Please reach out to Children’s Librarian Mel Fricchione, or Head of Youth Services Rebecca Graebner with any questions at 401.597.2877 x316
